Chaugnar Faugn - The Horror from the Hills by zombiequadrille Chaugnar Faugn - The Horror from the Hills by zombiequadrille
Chaugnar Faugn - The Horror from the Hills.  From the story 'The Horror from the Hills' by Frank Belknap Long.  One of the creations incorporated into the Cthulhu Mythos.  My figure is 6 1/2" tall.  Original was Monster Clay, and copies are cast in resin and painted a deeply aged bronze with highlights.  Copies are for sale for $35 plus shipping.  Anyone interested may contact me at Zombiequadrille@Hotmail.com

Oh my freaking heavens! That's incredible! Clap Elephant like, but utterly alien! I like this even more than your previous Chaugnar Faugns and I'm definitely interested. :) (Smile)

Did you come up with the total design yourself or base it more on Long's story?

Thanks!  For most of my figures I try to use the author's description as much as possible and then go from there.  Usually there is a lot of room to be creative with them.  Sometimes, too, I like to imagine that the 'idols' are adapted to fit the artistic cultures of the places they are found.

You're welcome! I see how the idols could differ from culture to culture. I always thought that was smart of Lovecraft; each culture's idols could have variations of the mythos gods' looks. I find myself thinking "Japanese" here for some reason--just a gut reaction.
