The Hound - H.P. Lovecraft by zombiequadrille The Hound - H.P. Lovecraft by zombiequadrille
The amulet from H.P. Lovecraft's story 'The Hound'
It's made from Super-Sculpy and painted. I'm making
a mold and hope to cast some copies from green/jade
resin. The wings look a little more like wings on the figure. The pic makes him look like Super Dog with a cape.

That's beautiful!
I loved the story and this makes me want to read it again ^^
Oh and for the superdog thing... if you make it out of Kryptonite, Krypto would be screeeewed! and it would fit perfectly XD

This was one of the earliest Lovecrafts I read, and it remains one of my favorites. Kind of surprised no one's ever made an attempt to dramatize it on a horror anthology. This looks like exactly what I would expect the story's amulet to look like. Very good job.

Thanks. I'd only seen a couple of other versions so I thought it would be fun to do one.

He'd make a particularly menacing superdog. It's a fab sculpt - Lovecraft would approve, as long as you don't use it for gaming - he despised games. Or anything fish-related - he loathed seafood!

..or as a stopper for a wine bottle! He didn't like alcohol either. No wonder he had time to write!

Thanks. I recently saw an article about a guy whose sculptures will fit through the eye of a needle, so my pride in detailing something small was knocked down a bit.

Ya but that mean senile people or ones with glasses can't enjoy his work but yours is very lovely and you don't need a miroscope to see it
